School Technology User Agreement

SPONSORSHIP TEACHER. I have read the terms and conditions of THSNet and I agree to promote this agreement with the student. Since the student can use the network for individual work or in another class, I cannot be held responsible for the use of the network. As a support teacher, I agree to inform the student of an acceptable use of the network and the correct network label. I read the terms and conditions of THSNet. I understand and will respect the terms of THSNet. I also understand that a violation of the regulations is unethical and may constitute a criminal offence. If I commit a violation, my access rights may be revoked, disciplinary action may be taken against schools and/or appropriate legal action. At one level, ShareNet is an example of a very successful district-level initiative to create a regional telecommunications network. The network includes 54 school districts in two states, 462 schools with more than 250,000 students and 18,000 teachers. As the parent or guardian of this student, I have read the terms and conditions of THSNet.

As far as I know, this access is for education and HRT has taken the necessary precautions to eliminate controversial subjects. However, I also recognize that it is impossible for HRT to restrict access to all controversial materials and I will not blame them for materials purchased on the network. In addition, I take full responsibility for supervision if and when the use of my child is not in a school environment. I allow myself to issue an account for my child and confirm that the information contained in this form is correct. When your account is opened, your teacher will inform you of your registration code and user password. Thank you for your interest and support in this exciting new resource in Indian schools. PARENT OR GUARDIAN (If the applicant is under the age of 18, most parents or legal guardians also read and sign this agreement.) With access to computers and people from around the world, there is also the availability of materials that cannot be considered an educational value in the context of the school. THS has taken the available precautions, which are limited to restrict access to controversial materials. However, in a global network, it is impossible to control all materials and a frequent user can discover controversial information. All we (THS) believe is that the valuable information and interactions available in this global network far outweigh the ability of users to obtain material that does not meet HRT`s educational goals. Despite the impressive scale of school and district involvement, if we take a closer look at the impact of the network on students and teachers, the picture is much less bright, as the type of access to the network is very limited in most ShareNet schools.
